Hex Bits And Hex Keys
Hex bits are also called bits hex, insert bits, screwdriver bits and hex keys Are also called L wrenches or Allen wrenches.
That is a hex key in the red package in the top of the picture. It is also called an L wrench, Allen wrench or hex wrench. The pretty gold part in the bottom of the picture is a hex bit also called a bit hex, insert bit or screwdriver bit.
If you look at the picture above you can see why these are called hex. Both of them have a six sided shape. Hex bits are made to go in holders such as screwdrivers whether hand driven or power driven. Hex keys are made to insert into a hex head screw and provide a lever for turning screw.
These are just a few names that came to me. I am sure there are more names out there. If you know of any I would appreciate hearing about them.
