Specification
Hardness is normally specified 44 Rc (the Rockwell “C” scale), ± 2 points Rc.
Verification
Hardness is usually tested by the plate/saw manufacturer and may be field verified with a reliable bench type instrument. Establish values at five locations on each side, one near the bore, one near the gullet, and three on the saw body (see diagram). Record all values.
